BM&E resources provide user-friendly guides for new parents about legal parental rights and responsibilities and outline the difference between the criminal code understanding of discipline (Section 43 – Spanking law) and traditional Indigenous views of discipline. Our video addresses how traditionally gentle Indigenous child-rearing methods were disrupted by residential schools’ use of corporal punishment.
